Minnesota achieved territory status in 1849 and statehood in 1858.  Hennepin County was formed with a number of townships, one of which was called Brooklyn Township.  People settled the area with a primary goal of farming which dominated the area into the early 1900's.  Brooklyn Center was closer to downtown Minneapolis so was developed earlier than Brooklyn Park that is still seeing major land development taking place.

From Natural History to Historical Beginnings, the Town Hall & Government, the story of the
Earle Brown Farm and the owners links to the State Police.  Education, Social Issues, Churches, Organizations, Sports, Historic Buildings & Farms to Cemeteries and Business enterprises... you'll find it all within the pages of "The Brooklyn's"!
